Description

I recently took the decision to move away from the 3D modeling program which I have used for more years than is reasonably healthy for a graphic designer; Truespace, and start using a more mainstream program. Specifically I wanted to get a grip on 3D Max which is widely regarded as one of the ‘industry standards’ for 3D modeling and this production is my first concerted effort with this terrific program.

If anyone is interested, I used the Nurb Point Curve and Lathe process to create the bottles and the tin cans were created with cylinders and tubes. The labels (materials) were created in Photoshop and their design was a variation on some 3D renders I made a while ago.

Truespace is history as far as I’m concerned (no disrespect to Caligari Corporation) because although there is a huge learning curve with 3D Max 8.0, the results are entirely satisfying (at least to me).
